Michael Voors is a Professor in the School of Art and Design at East Carolina University. He received his MFA from Eastern Michigan University and BFA from Indiana University.
His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is included in many public and private collections.
Much of his work is nourished by travel- in particular to sites that have an ancient or sacred character. Through the act of drawing, trace evidence of human occupation is examined. Changing qualities of light, surfaces that reveal the passage of time and variations of architectural passages are reoccurring motifs. The work is viewed as a tool for participating in a larger mystery.
'Excursions, Drawings by Michael Voors' will remain on exhibit through November 22nd.
